Online counseling, or Telehealth, allows you to get the help and support you want from the comfort, privacy and protection of your own home. Telehealth is not just convenient, it is effective. The American Psychological Association (APA) has recognized online counseling as an approved modality of service. It has been shown to be just as effective as traditional therapy, while allowing for the comfort and familiarity of your own home. Telehealth services may be experienced somewhat differently than face-to-face treatment sessions. However, most people become very comfortable with it almost immediately. The benefits of increased flexibility and less travel time and inconvenience generally outweigh any perceived difference.
RMT conducts telehealth sessions over video using Google Meet, a HIPAA-compliant platform, which is secure and easy-to-use. You will be sent a meeting invitation with a link to our session. You’ll simply click on this at our appointment time to log-in. If you prefer to connect from your phone, you can do so by downloading the Google Meet app. RMT will discuss with you any additional guidelines that are needed before beginning services.
